The FREE bees

Free... what a wonderful word. As most of you know on iTunes they have a single or singles each week. Most of the songs are not really worth listening to. But this weeks single is probably one of the best song that iTunes has give away in a long while. It is by the band Art Of Dying. I have not heard too much of their stuff but this song is good. The song that I am referring to is Die Trying
But you better hurry it will onle be free for so long!

The Return

Well it has been a good while since I have posted anything, but I think I will post another great song out on the market today! Breath by Breaking Benjamin, this indeed an amazing song, it has its highs and lows to the song. I love a song with great inflection and deflection. Songs like that are very gripping; they tend to keep my attention better than a song with one set tone.
This song is off of the album Phobia.
YOU should check it out.

Fan Facts!

Band Of Heroes have a very nice sound to their songs. Incase you haven't heard any of their stuff go about 2-3 posts down and listen to that song. So i figured i would share their bio with you. Since so many of us(humans) seem to not know anything about the bands we listen to!
"Achieving musical transcendence is a tricky feat, almost definitively. If it happens at all, it happens naturally and perhaps nobody knows that better than Seattle, Washingtons Band of Horses. Guitarist/vocalist Ben Bridwell and guitarist Mat Brooke formed Band of Horses in 2004, after the dissolution of their nearly ten-year run in northwest melancholic darlings Carissas Wierd. Carissas Wierd trafficked in sadly beautiful orchestral pop, whose songs told unflinching stories of heartbreak and loss, leavened with defeatist humor. And, Band of Horses rises from the ashes of that well-loved band. After playing music with each other for over a decade, Briddwell and Brooke picked up together again when Bridwell began fleshing out his compositions post-Carissas. It was really just a natural thing we started doing, explains Bridwell. Buoyed by Bridwells warm, reverb-heavy vocals (which strangely channel a dichotomous blend of Wayne Coyne, Brian Wilson and Doug Martsch,) Band of Horses woodsy, dreamy songs ooze with amorphous tension, longing and hope. At times raggedly epic (The Great Salt Lake) and delicately pensive (St. Augustine, Monsters), Everything All the Time is an album painted gorgeously in fragile highs and lows."
Their newest album Infinite Arms was nominated in the Grammys as Best Alternative Album. Its deffantily worth checking out.

Everybody Loves An Oldie

Come on you can't say you have never heard an oldie from back in the 80s 70s or 60s that you don't like. One of my fovorite oldies or if you would rather call it "classic rock" is Joker. This amazing peice of art is by The Steve Miller Band.
This is defiantly worth checking out!

This song is off the amazing album Everything All the Time. If you listened to the song from the post below \/ this one is significantly less rocky!
This is defiantly worth checking out.

This is a pretty INSANE looking guitar!

Tama Starclassic

The Tama Starclassic. The Starclassic has been around for a while. It is one of the best drum sets out there. But you get what you pay for. I know a guy who spent over 10k purchasing his star classic.
This is a list of all of the different materials you can get the star classic in:

  • Starclassic Performer B/B – Drums made from a mix of birch and African bubinga shells and come in a wrap or lacquer finish.
  • Starclassic Maple – Drums made from 100% maple shells and come in a lacquer finish.
  • Starclassic Bubinga/Starclassic Bubinga Elite – Drums made from 9 plies of African bubinga, with the Elite series made of either quilted bubinga or 8-ply bubinga shells with an outer ply of either maple or cordia. Starclassic Bubinga drums come in a lacquer finish, while Starclassic Bubinga Elite drums come in an exotic lacquer finish.
  • Starclassic Bubinga Omni-Tune – Drums made from 100% bubinga shells. As the name implies, these drums feature Omni-Tune lugs, which were invented in the 1930s by drum designer William David Gladstone. These lugs allow the player to tune both drumheads at the same time using a special drum key, and minimizes the time spent on drumhead changes.
  • Starclassic Warlord Exotix Spartan – Drums made from stainless steel shells with "Warlord Collection" lugs & emblems with Black Diamond Swarovski crystals. Limited worldwide production to 50 kits.

I hope to someday own one of my own, but for now i will continue to bang around on my electric kit.

Lanikai LU-21C Concert Ukulele

If you are just happening to be in the market for a ukulele that is better than an entry level uke but will not burn a whole right through your wallet. This is as seen above the

            Lanikai LU-21C Concert Ukulele.

<----

<----

If you have any questions to do with any instrument let me know!

Concert Ukuleles have four nylon strings. Tenor have three nylon strings along with a copper wrapped string. Now on my concert uke I use tenor strings. It gives it a little bit more of a warm sound.

The Opening

I must start by saying... There is never a dull moment in my life. My brothers, sister, mother, and my father make up for 90% of the excitment in my life.
Much of my time is spent in music. It could mean playing music, listening to music, or learning how to play a new musical instrument. My most recent endeavor was the Ukulele. In December i purchase my first Uke. It was a Lanikai LU-21C Concert Ukulele. It has done me very well. I have just in the past year learned to play the piano. Well i have attempted to learn the piano. As well as the guitar. My family owens many musical instraments. So it is very easy for me to just pick up something and learn it.
Drums. oh i could talk on drums for days. I have been playing the drums for over 3 1/2 years. I have been talking lessons from a very skilled jazz drummer. Even though my main genre of music is rock. I believe that learning from a jazz drummer was the best thing i did in my drumming life. He not only teaches me how to hit the drums he teaches me how to do it in STYLE... ;)
I have opened this blog to offer as much help in music as i can. From what to buy where to buy and how to learn. Becasue i am not even close to an expert at any of this i will learn from this as well.
Sincerely,
DK
